I spotted this bottle at Sam's Club and was quite skeptical about how it would taste. Considering it was made by New Amsterdam, I didn't expect much from it. When I inquired with the clerk, he had no information, so I asked if he had a shooter bottle. Luckily, he had one left, and for just $1, I decided to give it a try before investing in a full-sized bottle.

In short, it was okay, different from anything else I've tasted. The vodka doesn't seem to be very well filtered, giving it a noticeable rubbing alcohol taste alongside the pink lemonade flavoring. It's like a mix of tang and vodka. When I paired this drink with chicken tikka and paneer appetizers, it was acceptable. For the price, Pink Whitney by itself is not bad, better than the cheap premix cocktail bottles. Whether you have it on the rocks, neat, with a splash of water, club soda, or with 7UP, it's quite enjoyable.

Pink Whitney Cosmopolitan

• Add ¼ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
• 1 ounce cranberry juice
• 2½ ounces Pink Whitney
• Ice
• Add either a lemon, pineapple or orange peel on the side or add a cherry.

Verdict: Neutral - Would not buy again
