At her christening, Princess Aurora is accorded every perfections and graces by her godmothers. The wicked Carabosse Fairy, who had forgotten to invite her to the festivities, makes a terrible prediction: Aurore will prick her finger with a needle and die. Fortunately, the Lilac Fairy alleviates the curse. Instead of dying, the Princess will fall into a long, deep sleep that will last a hundred years.
