One summer evening, Suzanne, accompanied by her two young children, pays an impromptu visit to her sister Jeanne. Jeanne is taken by surprise. Not only have they not seen each other for several months, but Suzanne seems completely absent from herself. Upon waking, Jeanne is stunned to discover the note left by her sister. Her shock gives way to anger when, at the police station, Jeanne realizes that no search can be initiated: Suzanne has made the foolish choice to disappear.
